The 300M uses the same Enterprise MAID (Massive Array of Idle Disks) platform and MAID enhancing technologies such as our Virtual Tape Library (VTL) - Revolution 300T/TX, and File Archiver - 300A products. However, the 300M does not require a separate processing layer to host the disk personality. Instead, its third tier is replaced by the disk-based application that can directly access the storage shelves.
